The Territory includes three traditional kingdoms, each with its flag: in the order, Uvea which consists of the islands of Wallis, and Alo and Sigave which constitute the Futuna archipelago.
The archipelago has changed its protectorate status against that of Overseas Territory on 29-07-1961, after a referendum. The French Constitution as amended on 28-3-2003, gives it the status of Overseas Territorial Collectivity.
Kingdom of Uvea
The kingdom of Uvea is formed by Wallis archipelago.
The Uvea flag is red with a maltese cross. It bears le french tricolor in the canton.
Kingdom of Sigave
Le royaume de Sigave est situé sur l’île de Futuna. Son drapeau est divisé diagonalement en deux triangles rouge et noir, avec au centre un disque jaune portant deux lances croisées au-dessus d’un feuillage vert. Il porte le tricolore en canton
Kingdom of Alo
Le royaume d’Alo est situé sur l’île de Futuna. Son drapeau est rouge avec un arbre stylisé , une hache et une sorte de cuiller. Il porte le tricolore en canton.
